They Don't Know They Have Heart Disease Until They Die
According to a study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association in November 2021, "1 in 5 men and 1 in 10 women who smoke will die from cardiovascular disease, such as heart attack or stroke."
Research has shown that young smokers between the ages of 20 and 30 are twice as likely to die from cardiovascular disease, heart attack, or stroke as non-smokers.
Among those aged 40 to 50, the risk of sudden death remains approximately 80% higher, and for the elderly, the risk remains 30% higher.
